Adhesive is applied to the surface to be flocked first. Flock adhesive can be applied by methods such as spraying, brushing, serigraphy. Then the flock fibers are stuck on the wet adhesive surface by the electrostatic voltage force. In addition, electrostatic-pneumatic flock coating may be required for some products depending on the depth of the part. In the application of glue, the surface should not contain dust, oil, silicone.
In principle, any textile fiber can be used as flock. However, flocs are generally made of polyamide material. The thickness and length of viscose or polyamide fibers should be chosen according to the application. Thin fibers should be used when the surface should be soft and velvety filled, and thick flock fibers should be used when it is desired to have a brush effect. In addition, long flock fibers should be used to obtain an acoustic, sound-absorbing surface, and short flock fibers should be used when the lines of the material to be flocked are desired to be more distinct.
After the electrostatic flock coating application, drying in the oven or waiting in ambient conditions can be done depending on the properties of the adhesive.
The final stage is cleaning. Flock powders can be removed from the material with controlled air pressure and soft natural brushes.
