Flock can be applied to almost all materials. In addition to the decorative appearance, velvet texture, variety of models on the surface; Flock coating application can be preferred in order to serve as hot cold insulation, sound insulation, anti-clicking or a gasket.

It is also used in textiles for the variety of screen printing and to obtain an embossed surface. The desired motifs and patterns are obtained as flock-coated in products that can be applied with adhesive by serigraphy.

Multi-colored flocked floors can be obtained by applying flock on silk molds in automatic printing machines called octopus by textile printers.

The flock adhesive must be electrically conductive. It must not only adhere to the surface to be flocked, but also must be able to adhere firmly to flock fibers. Depending on the desired quality of the material to be applied, the adhesive's washing, abrasion and oil resistance may also need to be high. Paint can be mixed into the adhesive. In this way, with an adhesive color more suitable for the flock color, the visual problems that may arise from the material color are eliminated.

If adhesive application will be made by spraying method, the places where flock powders should not be stuck should be masked.

The surface to be flocked must be such that it cannot absorb the adhesive. A pre-glue primer application may be required for such materials. For example, materials such as wood, sponge, paper, cardboard are risky materials in terms of glue absorbency.

The adhesive surface is thick enough to be flocked; it should also be thin enough not to provide fluidity. This ratio was calculated as one-tenth of the flock length.

Flock adhesive and electrostatic application should be done by trained personnel. Since flock particles can stay in the air for a long time, a mask should be used in the application area. In addition, if the adhesive is made by spraying, suction and filtering should be done with suitable cabinets.

Standard data on ambient humidity and temperature should be obtained from the flock vendor and applied. Unsuitable humidity and temperature conditions may prevent you from applying quality flock. In addition, the storage conditions of the flocks should be considered.

For the final cleaning stage, it is necessary to wait for all the reactions of the adhesive to end. Cleaning and quality tests to be carried out before complete drying and curing or before the material temperature returns to normal may result in failure.
